WEIGHING UP YOUR OPTIONS SINCE 1984!
Coastal Scales & Registers started operations in the Wotherspoons building in Wyrallah Road, Lismore in 1984.
Founding directors were Dick Latta, Michael Clarke, Bob Hopf and Paul Hamilton. After 15 years we moved two
doors up (still in the same building) with Dick, Ron Perin and Evan Duck as the owners. After more than 32 years in
the same building, the then current directors Steve Dickson and Luke Wood decided to move premises to South
Lismore, to enable better servicing of our industrial clients.
Further to this end, it was decided to separate the business into two distinct operations. Coastal Scales is headed
by Steve, whilst Luke is on charge of Coastal Registers and Point Of Sale (including weighlabellers). Both operations
still work in with each other, so if you want a one stop shop for scales and registers, we can still support you.
The company has not only seen many changes in the Weighing industry – but embraced and adapted to them. The
early days were primarily still mechanical scales. Today, just about everything is electronic and/or computerised.
One of the key reasons Coastal Scales is still trading today is the level of support offered – the same as when we
first started. We do not operate 24/7 as such, but do have an after hours support number in case of an urgent
problem. Further to this we carry spare machines – in the event we cannot fix yours immediately - we offer you a
loan unit to keep you running until yours is repaired.
Coastal Scales has always been committed to the Northern Rivers and neighbouring areas (MidNorth Coast and
Northern Tablelands). We pride ourselves on the level of service we can provide to not only our valued small
business clients but major industrials such as Northern CoOperative Meat Company and Sunshine Sugar.
